Çavuşoğlu also praised both sides for their determination pushing forward with the Peace Talks and wishes for this to continue.

Çavuşoğlu also said “We were very pleased with the recent developments and that the two leaders have agreed to meet twice a month. The decision for the negotiators to meet more often is also a very good one. Seeing that both Mr Akıncı and Mr Anastasiades are demonstrating strong will for solution increased our hopes for a comprehensive, sustainable and just settlement”

He noted that Turkey’s support of the Turkish Cypriot community will continue in every aspect and that Turkey’s main focus in this is on the negotiations between the two sides.

When asked a question concerning the removal of guarantorships, Çavuşoğlu said that no good would be brought to the process by the duscussal of this at this Stage. The international conference between the 5 parties (TC side, GC side, Turkey, Greece, UK) that will be held at the end of the negotiation process, will address this issue.
